Tempo is built so that your health data stays on your phone. This page says exactly what leaves it, why, and how to remove it.
What stays on your phone
- Everything Tempo reads from Apple Health and from your band or scale: sleep, heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, skin temperature, steps, weight and body composition.
- Your meals, water, workouts, goals, medication and journal.
- Your profile photo, unless you choose to share it with your circle.
Tempo does not use iCloud for health data, has no advertising, does no tracking across apps or websites, and never sells data.
What goes to Tempo's server, and why
- The coach and food estimates. When you ask the coach or describe or photograph a meal, Tempo sends the question, the description or photo, and a short summary of today's numbers (for example your recovery score, sleep time and food so far). Our server passes them to DeepSeek, an AI service, to write the answer. Photos and questions are not stored by Tempo after the answer is sent. A random install ID, not linked to you, counts your monthly allowance.
- Your circle, only if you start one. Your first name, initials, photo if you share it, the week's session count, your goal if you share it, the moments you choose to share, cheers, nudges and invite codes. Only people you invited can see them.
- Notifications, only if you allow them. Your phone's push token, so we can deliver nudges and, if you switch them on, deals and news.
- Band logs, only when you tap Send. The technical log of your band's Bluetooth messages, kept privately so we can fix problems. It is never shared.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Who else sees it
Apple (Health, purchases, notifications) and DeepSeek (coach and food answers) process data only to provide those features. No one else.
Keeping and deleting
- Leave your circle in Feed, What your circle sees, and everything about you is deleted from our server at once.
- Band logs you send are kept for up to 90 days.
- Deleting Tempo removes everything stored on your phone.

Health and children
Tempo is a wellness app, not a medical device. Its scores and estimates are not medical measurements. Tempo is not meant for children under 13.
